My Introduction to Gibraltar
Now penniless I visited the Tourist office to tell them of my plight; I took a seat as there were two people already at the counter. I overheard that they owned a lifeboat currently moored in the harbour and that they wished to rent out cabins aboard it.
I took this onboard (sorry about the pun) and when they had finished I quickly explained my own plight to them. They invited me to visit them on their boat once I had completed my business in the Tourist office.
The Tourist office helped me by allowing me to telephone my parents and speaking to a local bank on my behalf. In the event my Mother was able to transfer 40 pounds to me that day.
I then visited the marina and found the lifeboat my newly found friends owned. They invited me to stay and were happy for me to pay them later. This lifeboat became my new home for quite some time.
After a good nights sleep I ventured into town and visited the local employment office.
Thanks to them I immediately found work, which leads me to working in Giraltar.
